define external function UTIL_Srand ( value integer seed )


Purpose

This function provides a seed for a sequence of pseudo-random numbers that will be produced by the UTIL_Rand function. Different seed values will produce different sequences of numbers.

Example: 

  ; generate a seed for a random number
  include "omutil.xin"
  process
     local integer seed initial {1}
     local integer RandomNumber initial {0}
     set seed to UTIL_GetMilliSecondTimer
     output "The seed is: %d(seed)%n"
     UTIL_Srand(seed)   ; sets the seed
     set RandomNumber to UTIL_Rand
     output "Random Number =" || "d" % RandomNumber
