declaration/definition

Syntax
cross-translate

Purpose

The use of cross-translate is deprecated, but is supported for compatibility with earlier versions of OmniMark.

Used at the beginning of a program, cross-translate indicates that the program that follows is a cross-translate program.

A cross-translation program is one that translates data from one form to another using find rules alone. Files named on the command line are processed automatically without the need of submit.

do xml-parse and do sgml-parse cannot be used in a cross-translation program.

Apart from this restriction, beginning your program with cross-translate is equivalent to beginning it with the following process rule:

  process
     submit #main-input
