util.millisecond-time

Returns: the number of milliseconds since the epoch

Purpose

util.millisecond-time returns the system timer value in millisecond units. The basis for the timer value is system dependent and may not represent any absolute time. This function should only be used comparatively to evaluate time intervals.

Example

The following program can be used as a template to output the execution time: 

  import "omutil.xmd" prefixed by util.
  
  process
     local integer start-time initial { util.millisecond-time }
  
     util.sleep 10
     output "Application completed in " || "d" % util.millisecond-time - start-time || " milliseconds.%n"
