Argument definitions

file-pattern: is a platform-dependent pattern used to match filenames

initial-directory: is the name of the directory in which the expansion will be performed

pathnames: is used to store the expanded filenames

Purpose

The glob function is used to generate a list of filenames that match a given pattern. The expansion of the pattern into a list of filenames is platform-dependent.

If initial-directory is not specified, it defaults to the empty string; this is interpreted as the current working directory on all platforms. On the other hand, if initial-directory is specified, has a non-zero length, and does not end with a slash (/), one is appended.

When the glob function returns, the write-only string argument pathnames contains the matched filenames, if any.

Exceptions

The following exception may occur:

OMPROCESS_801 Unable to glob pattern.
