This version of the library was shipped with OmniMark 6.0.2 up to OmniMark 7.0.

The OMTCP library is a set of functions that allow TCP connections to and from other processes and machines.

The library consists of the following files:

• "omtcp.dll" (Windows) or "omtcp.so" (UNIX) -- the dynamic link library file that creates the required OMX components and contains the functions used to manipulate those components.
• "omtcp.xin" -- the OmniMark include file that contains the OMX component definitions, the function declarations, and the required predefined variables.

The OMTCP functions and OMX components

Among other things, OMTCP allows you to:

• make, drop or accept TCP/IP connections with remote machines (tcp-accept-connection, tcp-connect, tcp-create-service, tcp-destroy-service, tcp-disconnect, tcp-port)
• obtain information on a connected remote machine (tcp-peer-ip, tcp-peer-name)
• send and receive information along a TCP connection (tcp-get, tcp-put, tcp-sink, tcp-source, tcp-has-characters, tcp-set-buffering)

The functions in this library use the following OMX components:

• tcp-connection - allows you to create a connection to a remote machine
• tcp-service - allows you to accept TCP connections from remote client machines

Usage Notes

External exceptions TCP15, TCP16 and TCP17 can be thrown by any OMTCP library function.

Note: The functions in this library generate exceptions, unlike the functions in OMTCP-OLD. The functions in OMTCP-OLD are still provided by "omtcp.xin" for backwards compatibility.
