Library: Trigonometry (OMTRIG)
Import: omtrig.xmd
Return type: OMX

Returns: The hyperbolic sine of a floating point number.


Declaration

export external float function
     sinh value float x


Purpose

Use sinh to calculate the hyperbolic sine of a floating point number. This trigonometric function works the same way as its equivalent in the C math library.

Out-of-range values return "not a number" (NaN).

Example:


  import "omtrig.xmd" unprefixed
  import "omfloat.xmd" unprefixed
  process
     output "The hyperbolic sine of (pi/2) is " 
         || "d" % (sinh (pi / 2))
         || " %n"
  ; Output: "The hyperbolic sine of (pi/2) is 2.301298902307294"
