Return type: Integer
Returns: 

The number of milliseconds since the epoch.


Declaration

  define external integer function util.millisecond-time


Purpose

This function returns the system timer value in millisecond units. The basis for the timer value is system dependent and may not represent any absolute time. This function should only be used comparatively to evaluate time intervals.

Example:

  import "omutil.xmd" prefixed by util.

  process
    local integer start-time initial {util.millisecond-time}

    util.sleep 10
    output "Application completed in "
        || "d" % util.millisecond-time - start-time
        || " milliseconds.%n"
