function

euc.writer

Library: Character encodings, EUC (OMFFEUC)
Import: omffeuc.xmd

Declaration

  export external output function writer
                      into value output output-data

Purpose

Use writer to accept UTF-8 encoded data and write that data to a value output, its argument, converted from a UTF-8 encoding to a EUC encoding. That is, the program writes UTF-8, but the provided output receives EUC.

Usage Note

To use omffeuc, you must import it into your program using a statement like this:

    import "omffeuc.xmd" prefixed by euc.

(Please see the import topic for more on importing.)

Example

  ; Write a EUC-encoded file named by the first command-line
  ; argument using the stream named "output-file". Convert
  ; the data from UTF-8 to EUC prior to writing it to the file.
  import "omffeuc.xmd" prefixed by euc.
  process
     local stream output-file
     open output-file as euc.writer into file #args [1]
